The Cobra King F7 driver comes in various guises, but at the heart of things it is the same club with a choice of head shapes to deliver different ball flights to suit your game. The previous and used various flipping or sliding mechanisms to move a weight forwards and backwards across the sole. This affects the to either add spin by moving it towards the back, or reduce it by moving it forward.Combine this with varying the loft through 3° over five settings using the now familiar MyFly8 adjustable hosel and you can get the right balance to maximise your distance.Compared to previous models, the 'standard' King F7 visually looks like it has gone back to basics with three screws in the sole, but this means that more weight can be saved because you don't have to allow for the weight sliding/flipping mechanism, even if it is made of carbon as it was in the King F6. This is shown by the fact that the largest weight is now 12g instead of 10g before. What it also does is give a third draw option by putting the heavier 12g coloured weight in the Draw position towards the heel and leaving the other two 2g weights in the front Low and back High positions. It's maybe not as much visual eye candy, but the effect creates a greater sugar buzz as you now have more options to play with.Taking the King F7 on revealed the effect the three settings had on ball trajectory.Starting with a 10.5° loft and the blue weight in the Draw position, I got a decent amount of distance with a bit of draw bias, but not so much that you would have to worry about it disappearing over your left shoulder. With the weight in the front Low position, the lower spin and flight were evident. It was the longest total distance, but looking at the detail shows that was because it rolled further with a yard less carry, illustrating the lower flight. The rear High setting was the Goldilocks one for me, as the higher launch combined with a nice subtle draw to give the best visual flight and feel. It's amazing the effect that moving 10g around a club head travelling at 98 mph can have in terms of how it feels. I've read elsewhere reviews that say the 2017 F7 doesn't give the distance expected.

Are far as I know the most crucial distance is the 6 inches between your ears and if you're holding a club that for the mid-handicapper gives a huge amount of forgiveness and flies so straight then you can leave the distance to vastly increased Confidence it provides. The F7 is as long as the TaylorMade 2017 M2 with a shot dispersion half the that of the M2 - which is why this morning financially painfully I part-exchanged my 2017 M2 for a 2017 F7 with a great big smile on my face. 8 handicap, 100-105 swing speed.I tested: Ping G i's, Ping G, TaylorMade M1, TaylorMade M2, Callaway Epic, Epic Sub Zero, Cobra F7, and Cobra F7+.Previous driver: Ping G30 LS Tec.Thoughts: These are all very good clubs. Testing with them will tell you which you prefer the feel and sound of. As far as my testing went, club speed and carry distance were both subject to operator error and they all have the same best carry and club speed.Spin was most effected by shaft selection. Trying the M2 or Epic with the hzrdus dropped my spin from 2200 to 700. Way too low for me and caused some falling ducks.I tested over three days, and used 3-4 shafts for each club(if available).
I played with weights, lofts and every other option available. In the end, the F7 with is Fujikura pro shaft gave me near ideal launch conditions with spin between 1600-2100 rpm. I loved the MyFly8 option, and the club head shape gives me a lot of confidence. The first time I set it behind the ball I actually chuckled to myself and thought there was no way I could miss with it. It is the most forgiving looking club head I have ever addressed. The cobra connect option, isn't worth considering when purchasing a club. At this time, the android app is barely useable and failed to even launch on 3 of my 4 rounds played so far.
The Apple version might be much better.Feel: similar to the ping, much more tingy than the TaylorMade's or Callaway's. Almost identical to the TaylorMade Burner Superfast, if you ever hit one of those.
Very disappointed. I purchased this F8 king cobra driver and found out its new design February 2018 was cutting a deep gash splitting my golf balls with it’s new design and sharp edge. If you look at the outside edge you will see a razor sharp edge that cuts into the ball if you hit the ball low or high. You’re going to see reviews from all over the world explaining this major design flaw. My clubhouse pro at Naples heritage golf CC in Florida found this hard to believe and called his King Cobra rep. After this report he sent his pro out with my new F8 to see if I in fact was having a problem cutting and ruining my new golf balls. The pro came back and found out I was telling the truth and showed me where he himself put a large cut into the new ball he hit.
With this new resolution they offered me my money back. My next round the pro offered me a new King Cobra Demo f8 driver and a new sleeve of three balls. I certainly wasn’t going to hit the new demo King Cobra f8 and ruin three new balls he gave me. At this point I went back to my old driver very disappointed.
